You may recall that over the past 2 years, Shropshire based web developers Six Ticks became embroiled in an epic adventure. A story for the ages, that we’ll be telling our grandchildren about in years to come.

It was the hunt for the Mermaid Pegman.

Since 2016 we’ve been searching the seven seas for a glimpse of a mysterious being. The Google Maps’ Pegman character which we discovered could be sometimes found hiding in mermaid form in exotic Google Maps locations around the world.

If you’re just joining the adventure, it’s best to catch up from the beginning by reading our earlier blog posts, such as The Google Mermaid and Searching for Pegman.

A Twist in the Hunt for Mermaid Pegman

This week our hunt for the Google Mermaid took an unexpected turn. We received an email from another detective, Dylan Warner... The office was abuzz with rumours of a new sighting… but this wasn’t the Google mermaid.

This was something different.

Over the course of our investigations, we’d occasionally heard from folks who’d told tales of Pegman being neither man nor mermaid. There were rumours of him appearing in completely different and even more mysterious forms… Someone’s cousin had seen park ranger Pegman in the Mid-West of the USA, a stranger from California contacted us to tell tales of a Lego Pegman roaming around Legoland.

But the sightings had been vague, and the information unreliable. We’d never caught a glimpse of these ‘other’ Pegmen ourselves, aside from fuzzy "screenshots" that could easily be faked.

Until now…

We had found the Ness Pegman.

The Loch Ness Pegman

As Google mermaid hunters, we love a good mystery monster, and none is bigger than that of the legendary lake monster The Loch Ness Monster.

People have been searching for proof of the Loch Ness monster for decades, and it appears that the folks at Google Maps are true believers in the Scottish lake monster.

Take a look at this mysterious being over Loch Ness on Google Maps or here:
