But recently our web development skills were put to the test when we were asked to build a new website for a café almost at the top of the world!

Cookie Café isn't your ordinary café.

It's a slope-side ski restaurant perched on the edge of a mountain between the French and Swiss border. At 2,227 metres, it's the highest café in the Portes du Soleil and surely one of the highest cafes' in the world!

The Café provides the perfect refuge for keen skiers as they whiz around the world famous Portes du Soleil ski area. Positioned at the top of two lifts, and a sun terrace which boasts famous views of the Dents Blanche, the caféis welcomed sight for weary skiers who stop to try the hearty meals, and delicious drinks on offer.

After being suitable refreshed, visitors can ski back down to the Swiss towns of Les Crosets, Champory and Champoussin, or head back to the Morzine/Avoriaz ski area in France.

A Website Which Puts Your Business on the Map

Being perched on top of a mountain somewhat reduces your chance of walk-ins, so Cookie Café's big priority was to build a website to help put them on the map and encourage the millions of visitors to the Portes de Soleil to stop by.

We therefore created a site which had easy-to-view piste map, as well as Google maps integration, so people could easily find the Café and navigate their way there on mobile devices.

All Six Ticks websites come with https security, mobile optimisation, and Google-friendly coding, which help the sites to have a better chance of featuring higher up in Google searches. These features also mean that businesses have a better chance of featuring above competitors who don't have SEO optimised sites.

Cookie Cafe also wanted a site which would make people cross "boarders" (get it?) and conquer mountains to try their food!

The website features, big and beautiful imagery and an easy-to-read menu so people are blown away with what's on offer, before they even get there!
