Things are never boring at web developers Six Ticks, so when we were asked to design and build the new website for UK soapbox racing event Krazy Races, we knew we’d have a fun time!

Krazy Races is behind a series of crazy new soapbox races which will launch across the country in 2020. Krazy teams across the country will spend months perfecting their soapboxes and costumes, only to hurl themselves down a course to see who can be the fastest team in the land.

The national events follow the success of the first ever soapbox event ‘Shrewsbury Wacky Races’ which Six Ticks were proud to sponsor. Over 17,000 people were in Shropshire to cheer on the racers on a day filled with wacky fun.

After such an amazing day, the organisers knew it was time to get even krazier and hold more events in 2020!

Our Kraziest Website Development Yet!

Although we discovered we aren’t great at building soapboxes, Six Ticks didn’t hesitate to take the wheel when asked for help with the development of the brand new website to support Krazy Races expansion.

As a new event, the team behind Krazy Races knew it was super important to have a strong online presence to reach as many participants and spectators as possible. Six Ticks were a perfect fit, as our team not only build custom built SEO friendly websites which are proven to increase visitor numbers and online interactions, but we love to be creative and a little crazy sometimes!

We’d already built websites for some brilliant events including Shrewsbury Festival of Literature and free-from festival ‘Frestival’ so we were excited to lend our expertise to a somewhat ‘krazier’ event.

The result is a super fun, interactive website which showcases the spirit of Krazy Races with some wacky graphics and great event imagery.
