Great Books and a Great Website - it's The Shrewsbury Festival of Literature!
There's nothing better than a good book.
And if the temperamental English summertime is anything to go by, there will be many rainy days ahead which can be spent snuggled up with a cup of tea and your favourite author.
With the second Shrewsbury Festival of Literature around the corner, there is no better time to pick up a page-turner.
Shrewsbury Festival of Literature - Part 2
Six Ticks are key supporters of the Shrewsbury Festival of Literature and our partnership began in 2016 when we were approached to build a new website for the inaugural event last year.
Susan the owner of Pengwern Books was a founding member of the Festival and asked us to create an easy-to-use, mobile-friendly website to help them tell the world about the fantastic new event.
We jumped at the chance to combine our love of providing great local websites and systems for local organisations with our love of books. We set to work on a modern, easy-to-use website to help tell the world about the brilliant event and attract visitors and supporters. You can view the Shrewsbury Festival of Literature website here.
The first Festival was a great success and featured a wide range of events from talks from best-selling novelists, writing workshops, to an emergency poet with her ambulance performing poetry-first aid!
With a dedicated organising committee formed of literature lovers, the Festival is now looking forward to an even better 2017.
The Next Chapter
This years' Festival will take place in various of locations in Shrewsbury, Shropshire from Friday 24th to Sunday 27th November 2017.
The Festival is busy creating a brilliant programme of events for the weekend so check the website for announcements on what is sure to be a fantastic line-up of "poets, storytellers, thinkers and adventurers"
The Festival is also recruiting volunteers so if you'd like to get involved volunteer here!
