Following a successful Ted Talk, Jacob came to Six Ticks with a vision; a mobile app dedicated to changing the misconceptions and removing the stigmas surrounding the HIV virus by sharing positive selfies around the world wearing The Positive Project T-Shirt, supplied by the Jacob Alxndr brand.
Jacob had approached other app developers who couldn't make the app within his timeframe, let alone within budget. However, due to our affordable mobile apps and skilled team, Six Ticks were able to meet Jacob's expectations and produce his app and website at a better rate than he could find anywhere else on the Internet. We even provided Jacob with a CRM system to track members, sales and selfies!
As well as allowing users to share selfies, the app also contains information about the HIV virus, and even includes a map to show local health clinics where people can go and get checked.
Jacob Alexander was diagnosed with HIV on his 22nd birthday and was suddenly made aware of the stigmas, misconceptions, and myths that still surrounded the virus. He spent 6 months struggling to adjust and cope with his diagnosis but instead of feeling sorry for himself, he picked himself up and decided to launch 'The Positive Project'
"I got HIV and I wasn't just going to just sit with it. I had to do something to turn it into something positive."
Jacob and The Positive Project have gone from strength-to-strength after his story has been seen in Mashable and The London Standard. With interviews lined up, Jacob Alxndr will have his hands full over the coming months and we are thrilled to have been able to help Jacob's vision, come to life.
"I want to invite everyone to join ranks in my #ALXNDRARMY and march on for positivity!"
If you'd like to support The Positive Project, download the app from your Play Store/App Store and help stamp out these stigmas!
