The team from website developers Six Ticks had a great time taking part in the Cyber Summit Wrexham recently as we spent the morning talking about cyber safety and the world of CRM and websites.
The event took place on 26th November and was hosted by online security experts Security Foundry. As always, we loved geeking out and sharing our techie knowledge alongside the other attendees who included: Moneypenny, NatWest Bank, Wrexham Glyndwr University, Plastipak, North Wales Cyber Cluster (Cyber Wales), Federation of Small Businesses, North Wales Tech, and Celerity IT.
Cyber Security Facts
After a great event, we thought it’d be the perfect time to delve deeper into how cyber security breaches affect UK businesses and share some shocking stats courtesy of the Department for Digital, Culture, Media, and Sport. They found that in 2018/2019:
- 32% of businesses reported cyber breaches
- Over 60% of medium and large sized businesses reported cyber breaches
- The average cost of lost data or asset breaches was £4,180 per business
- 32% of businesses are in need of new measures to prevent future attacks
- Only 1 in 5 businesses required their suppliers to adhere to cyber security processes
It seems when it comes to cyber security many businesses just aren’t prepared. In fact, 10,000 small businesses suffer from security attacks every day in the UK. It is therefore vital that your business takes action before it’s too late.
